Our involvement with music fulfils our lives, awakens our creative spirit, gives us a place to journey to and builds our awareness of esthetic beauty. It is a wonderful part of our lives. My university degrees were all in piano performance and my early career involved performing. However, teaching has been a passion of mine for a great number of years. I have been a piano examiner, adjudicator clinician, author and very active teacher for decades. I have also taught a wide range of ages and levels. At this time I especially enjoy working with mature students who have an interest in exploring beautiful music and in sharing it with others throughout the year. I offer regular gatherings every two months, where students play or just listen, where they support each other's progress and where they discover how supportive and friendly their fellow students are. Students benefit from my detailed explorative approach, both musically and technically. Since I am able to mirror their experience of playing (clairsentience), it is easy for me to sense any of their playing restraints and to immediately offer solutions for improvement and security. This enables students to play with much greater confidence and joy. I welcome adult students who are working at grade 8/9 level -through ARCT level and higher. I also enjoy working with adults who are new to playing the piano and who are curious about exploring music and learning how to play it well.
