Mark Olson

Mr. Mark Olson brings both academic knowledge and real-world experience to guide the student to make music in a variety of styles. He is a seasoned teacher and performer, teaching since 1991. In addition to private lessons, he has directed and taught band, orchestra and choir as adjunct. He has played with professional bands in a variety of styles from jazz, classic and current pop/rock, and blues. He brings his talents to the sacred space as a Minister of Music/Music Director for various churches from traditional to contemporary worship. Mark equips students with foundational skills to be successful from their first note to advancing to higher levels of creative musicianship. He also instills the discipline of consistent practice, teaching them problem-solving and listening skills so that they can become more self reliant as musicians.
