Mary Healey

I have enjoyed being both a k12 music teacher as well as Director. I started in Lynn Ma at middle school choral and General music and then at North Andover Public schools from 1970 to 1997. Thirteen years were as the K12 Music Director. I taught on all levels in both Instrumental and Choral assignments. I was asked to serve on the Mass Board of Accreditation in music twice. I obtained my Masters in music at UMA/ Lowell in 1978 . I minored on Wwds, clarinet, in particular I studied at Boston U. With Professor Tumarkin on piano. I also took lessons from John Laporte at Berklee School of Music as well. As a MTA member i attended annual Conferenes on pedagogy, Orff, Dalcrose and Alexander’s I spent two summers at South Easter U in Dartmouth MA earning two Kodaly certifications on the Master Level under Director Denise Bacon as well as Hungarian Teachers. I studied choral methods at Vandercook U in Chicago , as well as organ techniques at New England Conservatory. I was organist Director par time at Sacred Heart in Lynn and Sye Anne in Peabody Ms. I have subbed in Sarasota and since 2016 have been employed as a piano and Wed teacher at Sarasota Suzuki School of music to present. I have had students take thé RC exams. Two of these had physical accidents to arm close to the exam date and chose to go through with the exam. There has never been a year in my life when I have not continued to better my understanding of the power of music on people of all ages. It has been a beautiful life for me in this field. I love thé RC Program and hope that I can give this program to many students.
