AS OF JUNE 2023 I HAVE RETIRED FROM TEACHING AND AM NO LONGER TAKING STUDENTS. I have an M. Mus. in Vocal Performance from the University of Arizona, a B. Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Manitoba, and took advanced choral conducting through Brandon University. My teaching experience spans 40+ years both privately and at various institutions including private music schools in Kelowna, Penticton and Vernon, BC (voice and theory), Algoma University and Algoma Conservatory, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario (vocal and choir), Steinbach Bible College, Mennonite Brethren Bible College and University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, as well as two years as a graduate assistant at the University of Arizona. I also have extensive experience as a festival adjudicator and workshop clinici I teach classical voice and musical theatre in Kelowna, BC and have 10+ years experience performing, music directing, and teaching at Kelowna Actors Studio. Currently, I have a private teaching studio where I prepare voice and theory students for RCM exams and college level theatre school auditions, as well as for local productions. Regarding Speech Arts and Drama - I have completed my Performance ARCT with first class distinction and was awards the national Gold Medal. I have taught classes and workshops in speech arts and drama at Penticton Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts and I coach actors in monologue preparation for local production auditions and post secondary theatre school admission auditions. I adjudicated at the Cariboo Speech Arts Festival (Williams Lake, BC) in 2018 and taught 7 mini poetry workshops at two elementary schools for an music and arts fair (Summerland, BC) in May 2019. I also lead a theatre group at my church and have directed community theatre productions.
