I specialize in MYC beginner group-music classes; with my students graduating into the Royal Conservatory of Music piano method. This fun and steady approach offers students an opportunity to learn the language of music including Rhythm, Theory, Music History, Ensemble & Solo Performance, Composing and Solfege. These skills are taught early in their music education and ensures that students understand and love music for a lifetime. Understanding all aspects of music also enables students to easily learn any instrument with the piano as their very important and original guide.
Musical games and movement are the key to the weekly hour-long music class, beginning with very short practice times at home. Positive experience with this home practice realizes short term goals and naturally increases the practicing skill. Exciting longer-term goals such as learning to play Seasonal Music and Studio Field Trips provide even more motivation.
