Scott Jolicoeur

Known for his excellent musicality and virtuosity, Scott Jolicoeur is a guitarist based out of Toronto, ON, who is quickly becoming one of Canada’s renowned classical guitarists. Throughout the past few years Scott has played concerts throughout Canada with organizations such as the Guitar Society of Ottawa, the Arts and Letters Club and various others. With his distinctive sound and eight years of teaching experience, Scott has played and taught many styles including Rock/Metal, Blues, Country, Jazz, and most notably Classical. He also teaches music theory and composition. Various Students of Scott have had success in RCM examinations and many advanced students have approached him for help with developing their skills in technique and musicality. Scott has studied with many great guitarists including Dr. Ian Hodges in Winnipeg, as well as Dr. Jeffrey McFadden and Rob Macdonald at the University of Toronto. Currently, he studies with Jorge Caballero at the University of Toronto. From his studies, Scott has developed a well-refined and unique pedagogical method for teaching the classical guitar. In 2023 and 2025, Scott won the France-Canada Cultural Exchange Experience France Award. This award went towards a short term residency in France, where Scott studied with legendary classical guitarist Judicaël Perroy. Scott also participated in René Izquierdo’s program “El Camino” in Carrión de los Condes in Northern Spain in 2023. Scott has participated in Competitions in Canada and the United States. As a teenager, he earned first place in the open division (ARCT and above), at the Ontario Music Festivals Association Provincial Competition. Scott Jolicoeur is a well-rounded young professional and continues to help students of all age groups reach their goals.
