Sergei Saratovsky

I am an experienced piano teacher and concert pianist who loves to teach, perform, research and share my knowledge and fascinating discoveries with my students. I will inspire you to appreciate the beauty of music and teach you how to place it in a wider cultural and historical context. I will show you how to pay attention to subtle details which actually make all the difference. I specialize in preparing students for their RCM Levels 8, 9, 10, ARCT and LRCM practical exams. I also make sure they are comfortable and fully equipped for their university auditions. I encourage my students to participate in local, national, and international competitions and festivals. Having performed as a soloist with orchestras, I am excited to share my expertise in this demanding yet rewarding art form with my students, many of whom have appeared with professional orchestras on major stages. In addition, my teaching experience has been enhanced by my origin in a family dynasty of music teachers and professional musicians, my 25-year performing career in different capacities, and nearly 20 years of pedagogical activities. What I value most in my teaching and performing approach is the unique synthesis of my solid foundation in the Russian Piano School with Canadian principles of education.
