I recently retired (2022) from a 26-year career as a Halton District School Board Designated Music Teacher, with practical experience teaching music in every panel (primary, elementary, junior, and secondary), and in several genres including classrooms, concert bands, stage bands, choirs, musicals, and concerts. Ialso have about 50 years of experience teaching piano; some of my students have achieved awards and/or recognition for performance and theory accomplishments. I try to keep up my own performance skills, and welcome opportunities to perform in my community. I am a life-long student and certified teacher of Dalcroze Eurhythmics, an approach to learning music through movement, improvisation, and games. My post-graduate research explores the merger of holistic education and Dalcroze pedagogy. I believe that studying music should be joyful, while facilitating an experience of artistry as a language of the soul, regardless of age, level, and background. Please also see: haltonhillspiano.com
