Sofia-Marie Bergeron

Sofia-Marie Bergeron BA., M.Mus. is a Canadian violinist from Montreal. She studied the violin at the Conservatoire de Musique de Montréal in the class of Sonia Jelinkova. In 2010 she moved to Europe to study with violinist Silvia Marcovici at the Haute École de Musique de Lausanne in Switzerland (Bachelor of Arts in Music 2011) and in Austria at the Kunstuniversität Graz. She also studied with Salvatore Accardo at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Italy and three years at the Walter Stauffer Accademia in Cremona. From 2013 to 2016 Sofia-Marie joined the International Menuhin Music Academy to work with Maxim Vengerov. She had the opportunity to play many concerts in Switzerland, Poland, Italy, Israel, Macedonia as a member and soloist of the Menuhin Camerata. In 2018, she taught violin to undergraduate students in the music pedagogy program at the University of Ottawa and completed a music Master degree in 2020. Sofia-Marie Bergeron is a Royal Conservatory of Music certified teacher and an adjudicator for exams and competitions, notably at the Festival de Musique Classique de Montréal 2025 competition. A number of her students have received RCM gold medals, as well as gold, silver and bronze medals at the Festival-Concours Marcelle Corneille in Montreal.
