Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance under the direction of Dr. Blaine
Hendsbee, from the University of Lethbridge. During her years of education, Stephanie
performed with U of L’s Opera Workshop and Lethbridge Symphony Orchestra in principle and
chorus roles. Stephanie studied at Manhattan School of Music (NYC) and Centro Studi Lirica
(Italy) with Joan Patenaude-Yarnell for two summers. Stephanie has advanced piano training
under the instruction of Linda Davies, studying up to grade 10 piano. Growing up, Steph was a
long time competitor in the local and provincial Music Festival and has received numerous
scholarships and awards for competing in piano, voice and composition. Stephanie received
second in the province for her original voice/piano composition at the age of 16.
Stephanie has 15 years of teaching experience at Note-Able Music School, Long and McQuade
Music School, Grande Prairie Regional College Conservatory of Music, and at the U of L
Conservatory of Music. Stephanie has taught over 100 private students, preparing students for
the the competitive Music Festival, voice and piano RCM examinations, auditions, and university
music entrance exams. Recently, she has been celebrating her piano student receiving a mark of
First Class Honours with Distinction on a grade 3 RCM exam. Steph has a great passion for
teaching music and for the art of teaching young children! She now homeschools her two boys While running her music studio out of her home.
