Stephen Nabrotzky

I am RCM level 10 in piano and have been playing for more than 35 years. I am the organist at my church and have been teaching piano off and on during my life, as I have been pursuing a different career path, but have recently begun to build a full time studio. My teaching philosophy consists in proper posture at the piano, relaxation above all else, and close attention paid to hand technique, slow practice, and memorization. Study of theory in conjunction with piano practice is highly recommended. Knowledge of the piece under study is extremely helpful in all learning. Having done a lot of public playing, accompanying and performing over the years, I also teach the value of performing under pressure. Pursuing exams, competitions and music festival participation are all helpful in developing a well rounded skill set.
