I was born in Toronto and raised in Ottawa. I have been playing the cello since the age of fourteen, and I have a Bachelors and Masters degree in Cello Performance from the University of Ottawa. I also have a Diploma in Orchestral Studies from the University of London, Goldsmiths' College (UK) with distinction in performance. I served my country for 18 years as the solo cellist in the Serenade of Strings of the Central Band of the Canadian Armed Forces in Ottawa. I retired from that position in 2000 and continue to freelance in orchestras and chamber music. I love teaching and have had many students perform very well on RCM exams. A few have earned First Class Honours with Distinction. I am currently principal cellist of the Georgian Bay Symphony in Owen Sound, Ontario and I sub very frequently in the Niagara Symphony Orchestra.
