Thomas LaGrange

Thomas graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Music and from the University of Toronto with a Master of Music. He is a Toronto-based freelance trombonist, working as a teacher and performer. He has performed in productions by New Music Concerts and Tapestry Opera, actively performs with Etobicoke Philharmonic Orchestra as principal trombonist, and has performed with Orchestra Toronto.

While in Edmonton, Thomas performed and taught all over Edmonton, Northern Alberta and British Columbia performing solo and chamber music. He was a member of the River City Orchestra in Edmonton in its inaugural season and years after before moving to Toronto. Thomas was the recipient of various scholarships throughout his studies and was a winner of the University of Alberta Concerto Competition during his undergraduate studies. He has studied with orchestra musicians from across Canada, including Vanessa Fralick, Megan Hodge, Kathryn Macintosh, Erik Hongisto, John McPherson, and Alden Lowry.
