I have been teaching privately since 1991, and use the Aaron Shearer/and Mel Bay methods for guitar. Classical students will progress through book 1 and i usually supplement the method with the RCM into level rep and scale book abut half way through the Shearer book. I try to encourage students to participate (when they are ready),in student concerts/either on line (or in person), and expect them to work at it. I do show /explain practice methods/techniques so they are armed to succeed. Kids/teens and adults are welcome to study! I have had several students do well in music festivals,-some have collaborated with local choirs/orchestras and won silver medals in exams from RCM grades. I love teaching people and especially, seeing them evolve and develop on guitar!
