I am dedicated to igniting a lifelong passion for music in each of my students. My studio’s goal is to develop players with the most heightened sense of human beauty experienced through classical piano. I provide a white-glove tailored learning environment where each musician is encouraged to explore, grow, and perform, gaining essential skills, techniques and inspiration that extend far beyond the keyboard and translates into a flourishing life. My piano lesson program opens doors to inimitable creativity and personal growth, allowing students to experience their own playing as a powerful, transformative force for good in their lives. I am an internationally recognized musician with over a decade of teaching experience and accompanying testimonials speaking to the immersive self-discovery students find themselves on. Join me and let’s embark on your journey with expertise and heart. Inquiries for a trial lesson are welcome.
I teach through extensive tacit knowledge of the RCM curriculum preparing disciplined students seeking to maximize personal achievement through rigorous dedication to piano study. I was the executive director of Opus 1 Music Hub for 5 years and have previously held RCM Certified Teacher licenses, an Ontario Registered Music Teacher designation and have achieved general mastery of the instrument through extensive academic credentialing (MMus) and touring experience. I served for a time as the Music Director (Organist & Choir Director) for Thornhill Baptist Church and taught privately for the Toronto School for Strings and Piano. I worked as an employee for Yamaha Canada Music Ltd. and regularly integrate elements of vocal cognition, Suzuki, and Alexander technique into my program. I currently serve as a board member for Music & Beyond Performing Arts, Canada’s pre-eminent summer classical music festival based out of Ottawa, and my recent performances of the complete years of pilgrimage by Franz Liszt have attracted much attention. Please visit www.williamsnyder.ca for full biographical details, more information on current projects as well as upcoming concerts.
Current openings include Saturdays for private piano. NEW students are subject to a brief interview to discern motivations and goals. Adult students are particularly encouraged to reach out as are those learners with diverse cultural backgrounds; a desire to learn and achieve one’s own full human potential is key to any new student-teacher relationship. Access to an instrument for regular practice is required. Nice to have: will ideally bring a fundamental understanding of the materials/elements of music.
