Yingchao Wu

Sebastian began his piano training at the age of 5, studying under Professor Fengnan Wang at the Affiliated Middle School of Tianjin Conservatory of Music. In 2010, he ranked #6 nationally in the piano performance entrance exams at the People's Liberation Army Academy of Art (中国人民解放军艺术学院) and #1 at the School of Music, Tianjin Normal University (天津师范大学音乐学院), where he later completed his degree. Following graduation, he pursued advanced studies under renowned Chinese-American pianist Zhe Zhang, further refining his performance techniques and deepening his artistic interpretation. A classically trained pianist with over 19 years of teaching experience, Sebastian has worked with students of all ages—from young beginners to mature learners. He is known for his patient, personalized approach, helping students build confidence and consistently achieve success in music exams and performances. Sebastian currently teaches at multiple campuses of the Toronto Chinese Music School (多伦多中国音乐学院), where he is committed to developing both strong technical foundations and a lifelong appreciation for music in each of his students.
