Ivan Zifan Li

Praised for his “phenomenal musical expression” (James Ehnes), award-winning violinist Ivan Li is a dynamic international performer. He graduated from Brandon University with Distinction. He has completed a Master of Music Performance under the tutelage of Erika Raum at Western University. Ivan has graced stages worldwide, collaborating with renowned orchestras and musicians such as the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, the Regina Symphony Orchestra, the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra, Kerson Leong, Daniel Bartholomew-Poyser, Andrew Armstrong, New Orford String Quartet, National Youth Orchestra of Canada. He is a trophy winner at the Brandon Festival of the Arts 2019. He serves as a substitute violinist at the Regina Symphony Orchestra and an extra section violinist at the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra. He's not only a captivating performer but also a dedicated educator, shaping the talents of aspiring musicians. Ivan has served as a violin instructor at the Eckhardt-Gramatté Conservatory of Music since 2019. His students have been admitted to prestigious music schools such as the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing and the Shenyang Conservatory of Music. Ivan's passion for music shines through in his students' notable successes, including first place in the Preliminary Strings category at the 2023 Provincial Music & Arts Festival of Manitoba. During his studies, he is a Teaching Assistant in his undergraduate and graduate studies. He has performed in masterclasses with many world-renowned violinists. He is a co-founder of the Golden Ears Chamberfest in Vancouver. ​
