Course Description
Summer Theory Intensive is online!
Starting July 2, 2024, The Royal Conservatory will again be offering online theory classes for Levels 9 to ARCT Theory and History. These classes will be delivered online via Zoom (no hybrid or in-person options), taught by RCM Examiners, and available to students across North America. When registering please be aware that classes times are listed in Eastern Daylight Time (EDT).
NOTE: Tuition does not include textbooks or exam. Students are responsible for purchasing their own textbooks and registering for exams. ARCT-level Theory and History classes are only offered during the Summer Term.
DESCRIPTION
This accelerated, Advanced Level course corresponds to the content of a 2nd or 3rd year of a college or university music program, and is designed to prepare students to write the ARCT Harmony & Counterpoint Examination. Students should be
at least 14 years old as of the start of the course. Students must have completed
Level 10 Harmony & Counterpoint before registering for this course. The completion of weekly homework assignments is required. Please see Course Outline below for more details.
Tuition includes:
- Weekly classes:
- one class per week September to June (Full Year or Fall/Winter Term)
- three (3) classes per week for Summer Intensive
- 27 hours of live in-person classes taught by a senior RCM Examiner (Summer Intensive taught online via Zoom)
- Moodle Account to access instructor handouts and upload assignments
