Course Description

Take your playing and improvisational skills to the next level with weekly applied theory and improv group classes!

Jazz Improv & Theory is a hands-on applied theory class, designed to compliment The Oscar Peterson School's Jazz Combo ensembles, but can also be taken independently.

These weekly classes will focus on improvisation, skills development, jazz theory, and composition. Students will become more conversant with scales and modes, and increase their understanding of how chords are built and reading notation.

This course includes access* to RCM's Online Ear Training to help students further develop their aural and sight reading skills.

*access granted for the duration of each term
