TSM presents: Griffey & Jones in Recital

TSM Festival welcomes the celebrated American tenor, Anthony Dean Griffey, for an outstanding recital of songs for voice and piano. This praise from the Boston Globe is typical of the reactions he generates: “Anthony Dean Griffey produced a large and gleaming tone and displayed subtle musical and verbal intelligence. He is an altogether exceptional artist.” He has captured critical and popular acclaim on the opera, concert, and recital stages around the world, through a combination of a beautiful and powerful lyric tenor voice and superb musicianship. 

The list of front-rank conductors he has worked with includes Sir Colin Davis, Valery Gergiev, Bernard Haitink, Mariss Jansons, Lorin Maazel, Sir Neville Marriner, and Kurt Masur. A four-time Grammy-winning recording artist, his extensive DVD and CD recordings include the Metropolitan Opera’s Peter Grimes, and Tristan und Isolde; the San Francisco Opera’s A Streetcar Named Desire; Deems Taylor’s Peter Ibbetson with the Seattle Symphony; Mahler’s Symphony No. 8 with Michael Tilson Thomas and the San Francisco Symphony; and Britten’s War Requiem with Kurt Masur and the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
