Welcome to the Summer '24 edition of The Royal Conservatory’s “Of Note” – our curated list of activities taking place from July to September. We hope to see you at or from The Royal Conservatory’s historic and stunning building in downtown Toronto (273 Bloor Street West) very soon!
Summer Camps!
- July 2 – August 23: Oscar Peterson School of Music
- Some camps are now sold out! From musicals, to rock band to band, strings or instrument-exploration camp, there’s music-making fun for everyone! Register for Summer camps.
Supporting Student Success
- July 2 – 14: High School Vocal Performance Intensive (ages 14 – 18)
- Join young singers from across North America in this unique and immersive learning experience.
- July 2 – August 10: Advanced Music Theory, Harmony and History (Levels 9 to ARCT)
- Oscar Peterson School of Music theory, harmony and history courses are available online this summer
- September 4: US In-person Examination Registration Opens – November/December 2024 session

Professional Development for Music Teachers
- July 2 – August 7: Music Classroom Teacher courses
- The Oscar Peterson School of Music offers Additional Qualifications (AQ) courses as well as certificate courses for non-OCT members including Orff Teacher Education, Instrumental Music Pedagogy and Vocal Music Pedagogy
- Music Teacher webinars
- These free webinars are offered on an ongoing basis on a variety of topics including Smart Start – the RCM’s Early Childhood Education initiative. For more information about all of our webinars, visit this page – new webinars added on an on-going basis!
- September 6 – 8: RCM Teaching Retreat
- An action-packed weekend of professional development and training at The Royal Conservatory designed to enrich your teaching and expand your artistic network.
- September 8: Leadership Roundtable with Alexander Brose
- Hear from incoming President & CEO, Alexander Brose, on the future of the RCM and its partnership with teachers in growing music education in North America and beyond.

- The Royal Conservatory is once again thrilled to be hosting Toronto Summer Music Festival concerts. Taylor Academy faculty member, Jonathan Crow, is the Artistic Director.
- The Royal Conservatory’s 2024-25 Concert Season
- Tickets for the RCM’s 16th concert season are now on sale! The season begins on October 1 with the concert to Commemorate the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation with Tanya Tagaq, Emma Pennell and other special guests.
Video On Demand
- RoyalConservatory.Live is the RCM’s free video-on-demand platform featuring concerts filmed at The Royal Conservatory’s Koerner Hall! Recent additions include the Royal Conservatory Orchestra’s performances of Beethoven and Tchaikovsky with Maestro Peter Oundjian – a program that they repeated in Carnegie Hall.
- “Countdown to Carnegie” follows The Glenn Gould School’s Royal Conservatory Orchestra as they made their historic debut at Carnegie Hall on May 7, 2024. Watch all six episodes.
