Ella Poret studied with Boris Berlin and Marina Geringas at The Royal Conservatory and with Patricia Parr at the University of Toronto.

Ms. Poret is the author of "Piano World," a progressive method for beginners that helps students to attain a holistic piano technique and awareness of tone production from the first steps of piano playing. Ella has successfully submitted candidates to all levels of The Conservatory pedagogy examinations, and conducts workshops for both students and teachers outlining the most effective pedagogy curriculum to undertake in their studio.

She has adjudicated at festivals across Ontario, including Windsor, Barrie, Oshawa-Whitby, Cornwall, Thunder Bay, Markham, Arts Richmond Hill, and many others. As well Ms. Poret has adjudicated at New Brunswick provincial festivals.

Ella Poret is an artistic director and founder of the North York Music Festival, held annually in April in Toronto. This is one of the largest festivals in the Greater Toronto Area, offering competitive and non-competitive classes in piano, strings, voice, winds, brass, and guitar. Ms. Poret oversees all the aspects of running this festival, including promotion, marketing, scheduling, and engaging adjudicators.
