Teaching
Currently Heather Waldner teaches in Warman, Saskatchewan. She has maintained private studios in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario for over forty years, teaching piano at all levels from beginners to ARCT, to students age four to adult. She also teaches trombone, voice, composition, and all theoretical subjects including pedagogy.
While studying with Lyell Gustin in Saskatoon, Heather achieved both ARCT and LTCL. She completed further studies with Lorne Watson in Winnipeg with an emphasis on E-Gré piano technique.
Ms. Waldner has presented workshops across Canada, including "The Art of Practising: Repertoire and Technique," "Festival and Exam Preparation," "The Published Music of Heather Godden-Laliberte," and numerous theory and practical workshops for Royal Conservatory Examinations.
An adjudicator with the Saskatchewan Music Festival Association, Heather has adjudicated piano competitions as well as brass and woodwinds, ensembles, bands, and piano classes in music festivals across Canada.
She is an accompanist for numerous instrumental and vocal soloists, and has held several positions as organist and church music director. Heather is currently lead trombonist with the Saskatoon Concert Band and is rehearsal accompanist for the White Birch Ballet Company there as well. She also plays piano for ballet exams in Saskatoon and Regina.
Ms. Waldner is a composer who publishes under the name of Heather Godden-Laliberte. Her piano and vocal compositions are published through her publishing company, Godden Publications, which also distributes the music and teaching aids she has created. Heather has served on branch and provincial executives of both MRMTA and ORMTA.
