Susan Steele holds an ARCT diploma from The Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) as well as the degrees of Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Education from Acadia University. After a brief period of teaching the elementary school music program in London, Ontario, Susan returned to her studies at the University of Western Ontario where she earned the Master of Music (Performance) degree, and several years later, the Master of Arts (Musicology) degree.
For many years, she has had an active private studio in London, where she has taught all levels of piano and theory. As a long-time member of The Royal Conservatory College of Examiners, she has served as both a practical and theory examiner. As well as conducting workshops for RCM, she has adjudicated festivals and competitions.
For twenty years, she was involved with CMC (Concours de musique du Canada) and dedicated to its role of discovering and promoting Canadian talent.
