Christina Yun

Christina Yun

Christina Yun is a versatile artist and administrator hailing from Mississauga, Ontario and received her Masters of Music in Voice Performance at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music with Susanne Mentzer. She received her Bachelor of Music at Wilfrid Laurier University for Voice Performance with exceptional Canadian soprano Leslie Fagan.
She has performed with Spotlight on Opera, Opera Queens, COSA Canada, SFCM Opera and Musical Theater Department, Long Reach Opera Workshop, Halifax Summer Opera Festival, Centre of Opera Studies in Italy, and Wilfrid Laurier University in a diverse range of roles from the contralto role of Mahkwa (Giiwedin: North Wind, Magowan & Dénommé-Welch, Opera Laurier, 2013), mezzo-soprano role Hermia (A Midsummer Night's Dream, Britten, HSOF 2018) to Countess Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro, Mozart, LROW 2019). She continues her 2022 season with the Vienna Summer Opera Festival in their production of Don Giovanni as Donna Elvira as well as the gender-bent role of Lensky in Opera Queens' production of Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin.
She has also performed as a soloist with the Toronto Youth Wind Orchestra, and the Halton-Mississauga Youth Orchestra, and regularly shares her music with the community of St.Stephen's on-the-Hill United Church. She is an avid supporter of vocal physiology and its importance in the fundamentals of vocal pedagogy through exploration of playfulness and unique expression.
