Ms. Debbie Mun, our esteemed director, is a distinguished soloist, collaborative pianist, and chamber musician with a rich performance history spanning the United States, Mexico, and Europe, where she has consistently mesmerized audiences with her artistry. Ms. Mun embarked on her piano journey at the age of five. She holds an Artist Diploma in Piano Performance from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, a prestigious postgraduate program focused on advanced performance training, which she completed on a full scholarship. Additionally, she studied both a Master of Music and a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance, with a minor in Music Theory, from the Cleveland Institute of Music and the University of North Texas, also on full scholarships. Ms. Mun has been an integral part of the music faculty at Music Box in New Westminster, British Columbia, for over 8 years, contributing significantly to the growth and development of aspiring musicians. Previously, she served as a faculty member and director of the Mass Choir at Christ for the Nations Institute in Dallas, TX. Additionally, she founded and served as the artistic director of the acclaimed Chagrin Valley Chamber Music series, which showcased performances with world-renowned artists in Cleveland, Ohio. Her festival appearances include prestigious events such as the Park City International Music Festival and the Plovdiv International Chamber Music Festival in Bulgaria, among others. Ms. Mun's outstanding contributions to the arts have been honoured with the Embassy of Honor Award from the Korean Embassy in Washington D.C. Since beginning her career as an educator in 1994, Ms. Mun has passionately inspired and mentored countless musicians, imparting her profound knowledge and unwavering passion for music to the next generation.
