Ellen Moore

Ellen Moore has performed in concert and in recording with international artists including Michael Bublé, Josh Groban, Sarah McLachlan, The Tenors, Il Volo, Il Divo, Moe Koffman, Ray Charles, Anne Murray, Natalie Cole, Dionne Warwick, Deep Purple, Donna Summer, Liza Minnelli, Roger Hodgson, Marie Osmond, and many others. She has appeared on PBS and CBC television specials and recorded soundtracks for numerous TV and radio commercials.
Ellen has performed for many years in the orchestras of Toronto’s major musical theatre productions, including the original orchestra of Phantom of the Opera at the Pantages Theatre; the world premiere of Hal Prince’s revival of Showboat; Sunset Boulevard; the world premiere production of Ragtime; Mirvish’s The Producers, and Piaf/Dietrich; Podium Concert Productions’ The Secret Garden and Nine; in South Korea’s first major musical, The Last Empress; and in the North American tour of The Book of Mormon. She also played on the Canadian cast soundtrack recordings of many of these shows.
She has accompanied many of the great singers of musical theatre, including Patti Lupone, Colm Wilkinson, Rebecca Caine, Mandy Patinkin, Betty Buckley, Audra
MacDonald, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Lea Salonga, and Diahann Carroll.
She has performed on a regular basis with many local orchestras including the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, Hamilton Philharmonic, Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, Royal Opera Canada, and at Casino Rama, Casino Windsor, and Fallsview Casino. For the past two seasons she has performed Persian music, touring with the Canadian Golha Orchestra.
Ellen completed her B Mus degree and a postgraduate Orchestral Training Programme at the Royal Conservatory of Music. Her main teacher was one of North America’s foremost violin teachers, David Zafer. She has recently studied Arabic violin with Layth Sidiq, concertmaster of the US National Arabic Orchestra, and for the past three summers has studied Middle Eastern music at the prestigious Arabic Music Retreat in Massachusetts.
