Farahnaz is a professional Violin and Piano performer, songwriter and music educator residing in Coquitlam. She holds an honours diploma of Music from the Tehran Conservatory of Music as well as a certificate from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Violin performance. Furthermore, she has been studying Music under the supervision of the Art University of Tehran’s professors such as Arsalan Kamkar, Marjan Ghanbarimehr, and Behrang Khalili as well as professor Robert Rozek.
She is recently working at the Vancouver Conservatory of Music as a Violin instructor and an artistic manager who manages the VCM annual festival by monitoring students’ growth. Besides, she is an active member of the Vancouver Philharmonic Orchestra (VPO) as a violinist under conducting of Lars Kaario.
In 2020, she wrote a Violin grading system for elementary Violin students at the Vancouver Conservatory of music that is named Violin Kids.
In the past, throughout her career as an instructor and artistic manager at Sarv Music Academy, Farahnaz actively participated in many music festivals, such as the Mahak Music Festival, Sarv Music Festival, and Fajr International Music Festival. Some of her highlight performances have taken place in Evergreen Hall, Vahdat Hall and Roudaki concert hall.
She has been teaching Music professionally for over 10 years. Her number one priority is keeping her lessons fun and engaging by picking inspiring and motivating material for each student. She is happy to help students of all abilities achieve their musical goals and enjoys teaching various genres, including classic, jazz, and traditional folk music. She is currently teaching Violin, Piano, Music theory, and Ear training through VCM, RCM, Suzuki and ABRSM methods at the Vancouver Conservatory of Music.
