Francesca Hurst

I love helping my students create those moments in music that take your breath away. I am passionate about guiding serious piano students toward artistic excellence. Located in Annandale, VA, with over 20 years of experience, I teach private piano lessons that focus on classical repertoire, technique, theory, and expressive performance. My students explore the masterworks of the past plus the music of new composers. An accomplished concert pianist, I am on the Virginia Commission for the Arts Performing Artist Touring Roster. I also serve on the piano faculty at The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC, where I teach private applied piano and direct the piano pedagogy curriculum. I have a DMA in Piano Performance and am a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music (NCTM). As a faculty member of the Orfeo Music Festival in Italy, my students have a unique path to international summer study and performance.
