Violinist Jin Lee Youn, born in Jeonju, Korea, started the violin at the age of four. She attended the Pre-College program at the Korea National University and graduated from Yewon Arts School and Seoul Arts High School. After moving to New York City, she completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in violin performance at The Juilliard School as a scholarship recipient, and her Doctor of Music Arts degree from the State University of New York, Stony Brook.
Jin Lee has served as Jury member of international competitions including New York Artists Guild,
was a former violin faculty faculty member at the New York Conservatory, in New York City. She is an active performer of both solo and chamber music and has appeared on many international stages, including Lincoln Center and Seoul Art Center. She is the violinist of Alito Piano Quartet and Avant Perpetuo, a piano trio, and a violin piano duo with pianist Su Jeon Higuera. She is the violinist of Starry Duo, duo for violin and viola, with violist Amy Dahm Huh. They released their first album in South Korea titled “Hymns and Passcaglia” in
January 2015 and a second album titled ”Starry Duo” in 2022 which is globally distributed across all major musical platforms.
She currently performs on a 1694 Francesco Ruggeri.
