Matthew Kallio

Hello! I am a Calgary based, professional music educator. I have worked in a variety of fields within music including piano performance, collaborative piano, theater, dance and sacred music. My students consistently score within the 80-90 range in RCM exams, with one student being awarded the gold medal for highest mark in the province. I am a teacher that traditionally takes on a small, select studio that stresses the student's goal and allows me to focus on student success. Whether formal exams are your goal, or simply exploring the piano and music for your own personal growth, I try to tailor lessons to you. I have a keen interest in chamber music and choral music having worked as a pianist and singer in these fields. I have also worked in artistic and musical direction for various productions and musical societies. I am always interested in getting to know colleagues for duo piano performance, chamber music (I especially enjoy playing with strings!) and choral projects. Cheers!
