Meredith Nicholson

Meredith is a classically trained Coloratura- soprano, originally from Truro, Nova Scotia. She began studying voice at the age of eight years with Canadian soprano Jane Archibald, then with Chella Henderson for ten plus years before continuing her studies at Acadia University with mezzo-soprano Paula Rockwell, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Music in 2009. In the Fall of 2009 she moved to Toronto to acquire more training and performance opportunities. She continued private studies with Roxolana Roslak at the Royal Conservatory of Music and is currently with Mark DaBoll (University of Toronto Faculty). In Meredith’s early music years she participated in the Truro Music Festival Festival, being a recipient of Dr. Jane Norman Award, GB. Saunders award, Rob Bruce Cup for solo Musical theatre performance and local scholarships. She was heavily involved in her high school band, choir ensemble programs and musical productions. Although singing has been her main focus Meredith has also studied piano and has completed a Royal Conservatory grade 7 Certificate and currently processes a grade 9 playing ability. Since Meredith moved to Toronto she has been actively performing. She sang in the chorus for The Toronto Opera Repertoire by Request. In 2013, she attended the Artist program, Opera on the Avalon, in Newfoundland receiving training from elite teachers from across North America.
