Mira Victoria Perry

M. Victoria Perry

Mira Victoria Perry (friends call her Victoria) is a US-trained and Toronto-based musician, offering online and in-person flute instruction to students of all ages. She began teaching in 1991 under the mentorship of her teacher, Dr. Linda Kirkpatrick. Later, as a music major in university, she was among a few freshmen invited to teach in the university's preparatory division, solidifying her enthusiasm for teaching. Victoria brings a warm and encouraging approach to teaching stemming from her training in positive psychology (Harvard), human behavior (University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill), and music pedagogy (Royal Conservatory of Music). Working within the RCM curriculum, she encourages students to collaborate in the development of their learning path to increase engagement, set goals to strengthen commitment, and pursue opportunities that resonate with the unique individual. While auditioned and graded performances are not everyone's path, Victoria supports students moving through the RCM curriculum and preparing for auditions. A few of her own performance highlights include: invited performer at the White House, master class performing auditor/auditor with Dr. William Montgomery and Sir James Galway, mid-Atlantic Flute Choir, All State Band (multiple years), and a variety of solo and ensemble adjudicated performances.
