Sarah Schroeder

Having successfully performed as a professional singer in musical theater and opera, Sarah makes learning to sing simple and achievable. Sarah works with singers of all ages and levels, including children and adults who perform professionally. Her students include singers of all ages and levels from very young beginners to touring members of Broadway In Chicago musicals, as well as a commercial and recording artist. Her students have performed at The Goodman Theater and Second City theaters in Chicago and as leads in musicals and operettas in the greater Chicagoland area. Sarah has also prepared high school students who have successfully auditioned for and been accepted to nationally recognized performing arts schools and conservatories for both classical voice and musical theater. A private teacher of twenty years, Sarah has also been a teaching artist for The Lyric Opera of Chicago’s OperaKids! program, The Metropolis Performing Arts Center, Belmont University, and privately. She has co-founded The Chicago Broadway Studio, an avenue for training young singing actors, and The Broadway Vocal Arts Summer Intensive Program for college students. As a performer, Sarah has sung in the United States, England, Austria, and China and won placed in national and international vocal competitions. Sarah holds a Master of Music degree in Vocal Pedagogy & Performance from Belmont University and a Bachelor of Music in Performance from Samford University. She has extensive training in anatomy and physiology and helps singers understand how our body functions in singing and has training as a Singing Voice Specialist. As a SVS, she is skilled in singing voice therapy principles and planning, techniques for singing behavior change, and principles in therapeutic songs, and holistic methods for preventing vocal re-injury. Through live and online training, Sarah equips beginner, intermediate and professional level singers to embrace confidence with her vocal technique, mindset, and performance training. With more opportunities than ever before, Sarah believes that the performer’s adventure is truly a journey worth taking and has worked to foster confidence in the singers who choose to take action. A member of the Royal Conservatory of Music College of Examiners, Sarah actively prepares many students for RCM exams. She strongly believes that preparing for these exams helps singers to become well rounded musicians and sets an excellent foundation for singing.
