Selina Chen

Ms.Chen began formal piano training at the age of 3 years and 10 months. At the age of 10, she performed the piece “Little Parade” by composer Mr. Liao Shengjing in a national piano competition, and her interpretation contributed to the piece’s later inclusion in the official piano examination repertoire. By age 12, she was granted direct admission to the entrance assessment of the prestigious Xinghai Conservatory of Music Affiliated School in Guangzhou, China.

After immigrating to Canada in 2005, Ms.Chen continued her musical development at the University of Toronto, St. George campus, and has since been working with the Catholic School Board, where she integrates music education into the curriculum.

She has accumulated extensive local teaching experience in Canada while incorporating the rigorous and structured piano pedagogy of her early training in China. Her teaching style emphasizes strong fundamentals, musicality, and student-centered growth, suitable for students of all ages and levels.

In addition to teaching, Selina is also active in the wider music and arts community. She served as a jury member for the MOMA International Piano Competition (2023–2025)
