Sheila Miller

Sheila Miller

Sheila Miller, M.Mus., has been teaching private singing and piano lessons for 30-some years. She teaches in her home near Pape subway station, online, and in students' homes. She enjoys teaching all ages and levels, including musicianship, theory and sight singing. Sheila prepares interested students for Royal Conservatory of Music exams as well as competitions and auditions and is also happy to work with students who are not inclined to perform. She is a member and past Treasurer of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers' Association (ORMTA), Central Toronto Branch.

Sheila holds a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Université de Montreal and a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from McGill University, as well as Grade X Flute with required theory from the Royal Conservatory of Music. She won scholarships and competitions during her training and appeared as soloist with the Montreal Symphony under Charles Dutoit and in many churches. Sheila has a wealth of choral experience, including the Montreal Symphony Chorus and National Youth Choir.

Sheila's knowledge of posture and breathing is informed by her many years of yoga teaching and practice experience. She has been a certified and active Kripalu Yoga Teacher since 1998.
