Vivian Liu

Teacher ARCT
Vivian has been teaching the piano and violin to students of all grades for over 10 years, from preparatory to post-ARCT. Her students have received RCM gold medals in the piano and violin, performed in gala concerts including the Kiwanis, and have been active members of youth orchestras in the community. Vivian enjoys witnessing each student’s growth as they fulfill their goals. She believes the most important factor in the learning process is that students are engaged and look forward to lessons, having a lifelong appreciation for music. Vivian began her musical training at the age of 4, learning the piano and violin. She is the recipient of multiple awards including Canadian Music Competition first prize winner in piano, RCM Grade 10 Violin BC & Yukon Regional Gold Medalist, and RCM ARCT Violin national gold medalist. At the age of 12, Vivian made her first debut with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra at the Orpheum theatre, performing Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto under the baton of Maestro Bramwell Tovey. She has since been a returning guest artist with the VSO, performing as a soloist at Deer Lake’s Symphony in the Park and the Orpheum’s School Concert Series. In addition to solo work Vivian also has played in orchestra, chamber music, and piano ensembles throughout her music journey. Vivian holds RCM ARCTs in piano and violin performance [2011, 2012]. In 2020, Vivian graduated with her bachelors degree from UBC. Supplemental Links: https://www.burnabynow.com/local-news/burnaby-violinist-gets-top-marks-in-canada-2932567 https://ow.ly/i/1BoP7
