Yunjung York

Yunjung York

Born in Korea, violinist Yunjung is a top prize winner of prestigious competitions as a chamber player in her native country, including First Prize at the Korean National Student Music Competition, Silver Prize at the 8th Dongyang Music Competition in 1999, and First Prize for chamber music from the 27th Korea Music Association National Students Musical Competition in 2000. After immigrating to Canada in 2000, she participated in renowned summer music festivals such as Czech International Music Academy of Pilsen, and Banff International Music Festival. After earning her B.A. at University of British Columbia as a scholarship student, she was awarded a Mancini Fellowship along with a teaching assistantship at University of Miami for her Master's degree and Artist Diploma in Violin Performance. Currently she performs as a section violinist for Vancouver Opera.
