Yunyi (Nunu) Zhang holds a Licentiate Diploma in Piano Performance from McGill University, studying under the tutelage of Marina Mdivani, a Master’s of Music degree in Piano Performance from the University of Western Ontario, studying with Jean-Paul Bracey, a Bachelor of Mus (Honours) in Music Theory and Composition from the University of Western Ontario, an A.R.C.T Performer Diploma (Honours with Distinction) from the Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto, and has recently completed an A.R.C.T Diploma in Piano Pedagogy from the Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto.
Nunu is a strong advocate for ORMTA and is an active member of the London ORMTA Branch as the website and social media committee chair. Alongside performing, accompanying and teaching, Nunu also enjoys volunteering time at retirement homes and sharing the joys of music, especially to those disabled or in palliative care.
In demand as a piano and theory teacher, Nunu has a full studio in London, Ontario and is very proud of her students. Her teaching philosophy has always been to nurture each and every one of her student's expression in music and in a way that assists them in their life goals. Nunu appreciates each and every one of her students and the wide spectrum of personalities that brings so much variety and fun in her everyday teaching!
