Celebrated RCM faculty members and a rising star alumnus unite for an exquisite trio recital of works by Beethoven, Ernő Dohnányi, and a new commission by Vancouver-based Stefan Hintersteininger.
Mayumi Seiler is celebrated for concerto, recital, and collaborative performances worldwide, both live and on disc. She has appeared at venues including New York’s Carnegie Hall and London’s Royal Albert Hall for The Proms, and as soloist with the Royal Philharmonic, Berlin Symphony, Moscow Symphony, Hong Kong Philharmonic, Montréal Symphony, Toronto Symphony, Australian Chamber Orchestra, and Academy of St Martin in the Fields. Ms. Seiler was professor at Salzburg’s Mozarteum and now serves on The Glenn Gould School faculty. She performs on the 1684 Croall Stradivarius.
Praised for her “simply unbeatable beauty of tone” (Berliner Zeitung), Min-Jeong Koh maintains a busy schedule as concert violinist, violist, and educator. As first violinist of the Cecilia String Quartet, she won First Prize at the Banff International String Quartet Competition, Second Prize at the Osaka International Music Competition, and the Prix de la Sacem at the Bordeaux String Quartet Competition. A passionate educator, she is on faculty at The Glenn Gould School and The Taylor Academy, and also co-directs the RCM Violin Symposium.
Daniel Hamin Go – musician, educator, and creative director – has performed across three continents, appearing at the Berliner Philharmonie, Cadogan Hall, Carnegie Hall, Flagey Studios, and Konzerthaus Berlin. An avid chamber musician, he has received invitations to Krzyzowa Music, Open Chamber Music at Prussia Cove, Ravinia Festival, Tsinandali Festival, and Yellow Barn, collaborating with artists including Glenn Dicterow, Miriam Fried, Ida Kavafian, Daniel Phillips, Rachel Podger, and Fazıl Say. Go performs on a cello made by Antonio & Rafaelle Gagliano, Naples ca. 1830, generously on loan from CANIMEX INC., of Drummondville, Quebec, Canada.
