About Celine Celine is a singer and voice teacher in Hamilton, Ontario. Described as a "warm and lovely mezzo", Celine specializes in Western Classical music while also having experience in Country music, Pop/Rock music, and Musical Theatre. Celine loves to perform in a variety of genres and is as comfortable singing with her guitar as she is in a gown. Most recently Celine has performed with the Bach Elgar Choir in Hamilton, Hamilton Children's Choir, Chorus Hamilton, and Whispering River Music in her hometown of Parry Sound. Education and Training Celine completed her undergraduate studies at McGill University in Montréal in vocal performance where she studied with Dr. Tracy Smith-Bessette. Recently, Celine completed her master’s degree in vocal pedagogy at the University of Toronto under the supervision of Professor Lorna MacDonald. Through the University of Toronto she was a participant in two “John R. Stratton Visitor in Music” Masterclasses with Joyce Didonato and Susan Graham. Additionally, Celine attended the "Fundamentals of Functional Training" course with Dr. Matthew Edwards at The CCM Vocal Pedagogy Institute at Shenandoah University in 2021. Celine actively keeps up to date with the vocal pedagogy field through NATS and PAVA conferences and workshops. Teaching Experience Celine has been teaching students in Popular and Western Classical styles for over six years. She loves to help singers find vocal freedom, gain confidence in their singing, and achieve their personal musical goals. Celine's students have gone on to achieve honour levels in their RCM* exams, place at local music competitions, qualify for provincial-level competitions, as well as be accepted to university programs for voice studies and music. *Royal Conservatory of Music. Celine looks forward to working with any prospective students over the age of 7 who are excited to learn and make music.
