HYUN JUNG SONG

Hyun is a collaborative pianist and dedicated piano instructor with over a decade of experience in both music education and performance. From 2011 to 2021, she served as an accompanist at the George-Hahle Academy of Music, supporting students and faculty in lessons, recitals, and public performances. From 2021 to 2023, she continued her work as a freelance accompanist and piano teacher. Since 2023, she has been teaching at Calgary Piano Expressions, working with students of all levels, from beginners to advanced, and with young children to adult learners. Her teaching philosophy centers on fostering musical growth, confidence, and creativity in each student. Hyun is committed to clear communication, goal-oriented instruction, and nurturing a lifelong appreciation for music. She also values collaboration and mentorship in both educational and performance settings. In addition to teaching, Hyun volunteers as the accompanist for an adult community choir at YMCA Rocky Ridge. In recognition of her contributions to community music, she received a Certificate of Recognition from the Stars of Alberta Volunteer Awards in 2024. Hyun is also the co-founder of Belita Ensemble, a piano group dedicated to presenting a diverse repertoire that spans classical to contemporary works. The ensemble held its debut concert in June 2025. As a teacher, Hyun is passionate about upholding the standards of the Royal Conservatory of Music and inspiring excellence in the next generation of musicians.
