Jude Weirmeir

Dr. Jude Weirmeir is a guitarist, conductor, educator, and composer who earned his Ph.D. in music from the University of California, San Diego. He has taught extensively across diverse musical traditions, including the music of Africa and Asia, popular culture and film, music theory, musicianship, and guitar performance.
For more than two decades, Dr. Weirmeir has maintained an active teaching studio in San Diego and has directed the Villa Musica Classical Guitar Ensemble since its founding. His beginning guitar method, Guitar Play, forms the foundation of Villa Musica’s guitar curriculum.
Dr. Weirmeir is also affiliated with the Royal Conservatory of Music, where he has guided students through more than one hundred successful guitar examinations over the past thirteen years. His work as a performer, educator, and composer continues to shape the musical life of San Diego and beyond.
