Michael Park

Michael Park is an artist who values innovation, sincerity, and communication. A “wildly talented pianist” (Opera Canada), Michael regularly performs with Vancouver's Erato Ensemble, and continues to collaborate with a wide variety of artists, including dancers, poets, visual artists, and musicians. While pursuing his undergraduate studies in piano, improvisation and multi-disciplinary collaboration led him to studies in composition. Michael’s own compositions have been presented in Vancouver by Music on Main, Vancouver Pro Musica, Redshift Music, Songfire Festival of Song, and Queer Arts Festival. His music has also been performed across North America, with notable premieres in Winnipeg, Boston, and New York. Excited to share his expertise and creativity, Michael has made teaching an important part of his musical existence for more than a decade. He has taught piano, composition, and theory to students of all ages and experience levels. He maintains an active music studio in Vancouver, BC, and online. In addition to his artistic pursuits, Michael is co-founder and coordinator of the internationally acclaimed Art Song Lab - an innovative program that partners writers and composers to create new art songs alongside world-class performers.
