Yuri Zaidenberg was born in Kiev region, Ukraine. He began playing violin at the age of seven. After post-graduate studies at the Moscow P.I.Tchaikovsky Conservatory with Professor Valery Klimov, a disciple of world well-known violinist David Oistrakh, he appeared in many concerts and on radio and television throughout the former Soviet Union. Before leaving his native land he held faculty teaching positions at the Rachmaninov State Conservatory (University),Russia, Turkmenian National Conservatory (Un-ty) and the Special Music School for Gifted Children.

Since coming to Toronto, Canada in 1991, he was much in demand as a concert soloist, also performing in various chamber music groups and as a concertmaster and member of several orchestras. He was invited to perform and teach in two International Music Festivals in South America (Bolivia), Blue Lake Music Festival (Michigan, US), InterHarmony International Music Festival (Germany and Italy) and International Music Festival in Gulangyu (Xiamen, China) and served as a concertmaster of the Festival Orchestra, soloist, chamber ensemble musician and as a violin teacher and chamber ensemble coach giving many masterclasses.

Mr. Zaidenberg presented the Canadian premiere of complete works for violin and piano by Russian famous contemporary composer Alfred Schnittke (Toronto, Canada). He was a founder, artistic director and performer of the “Russian Musical Heritage Series” concerts, representing a variety of Russian classical and contemporary music( Toronto,Canada). He released CD with rarely performed violin sonatas by J. Brahms and the “Quasi una Sonata” by A. As well as enjoying active performing life Yuri Zaidenberg has achieved great success as a violin and viola teacher and chamber ensemble coach. His more than 55 years of teaching experience helps him to maintain a very busy and successful pedagogical career. His students take a part in music festivals and competitions across the Canada and internationally. They have won hundreds of awards and scholarships, performed in a different venues from Carnegie Hall in New York to a local concert halls, were soloists with orchestras and played in chamber ensemble groups, participated in National and International Music Competitions and International Music Festivals winning high prizes and achieving success in Royal Conservatory of Music exams (Canada) with high marks and Gold Medals(10 Gold Medals) .
Yuri Zaidenberg’s students also achieved high performing levels and received prestigious scholarships like The Flora Matheson Goulden Strings Scholarship of the Royal Conservatory of Music. They are continuing their musical education in the universities still frequently connecting to Yuri for his advise and help.

As a dedicated teacher, Yuri helps his students to successfully enter universities for Bachelor and Masters Degrees and to prepare advanced students for International Competitions. His students won leading prizes (1st,2d,3d and 4th Prizes) on Stulberg International String Competition (US), Singapore International Music Competition (Singapore), Arizona International Music Competition (US), Vancouver International Music Competition(Vancouver, Canada) and Concours de musique du Canada(Grand Prix and leading Prizes, Quebec Canada).
He received an "Outstanding Teacher" Certificate from the Vancouver International Music Competition and multiple Teacher Certificates of Recognition from the Royal Conservatory of Music.
His students also were accepted for admission in New England Conservatory(US), Berklee College of Music(US), Moscow P.I.Tchaikovsky Conservatory(Russia), Indiana University Jacobs School of Music(US), Cleveland Institute of Music(US), Eastman School of Music(US), Manhattan School of Music(US) and many Canadian Universities.

In the various positions Mr. Zaidenberg has held such as a String Faculty and Chamber Ensemble Faculty member of the universities, Lecturer of the History of Violin Performance and Pedagogy, Head of a Scientific Research Laboratory of Music Performance and Education of the university - he has acquired skills, which allow him to use many different pedagogical approaches and methods in his work including the traditions and innovations of famous European and Russian Violin Schools, educational and music psychology and personal teaching experience.
Yuri is a certified specialist in violin (all grades) of the Royal Conservatory of Music and certified Suzuki violin teacher. He is a member of the British Columbia Registered Music Teachers Association(Canada), Royal Conservatory of Music and Suzuki Association of the Americas .
Yuri actively supports young performers through masterclasses, offering free lessons as a personal scholarship, both locally and internationally. For instance, he is also hosting masterclasses giving payment as a donation to support the local music community development. Furthermore, mostly every summer, Yuri is teaching, performing, and conducting masterclasses at the International InterHarmony Music Festival in Italy. Since moving to British Columbia, Canada, Mr.Zaidenberg is working privately and in some music schools. He joined faculty of Vancouver Symphony Orchestra School of Music in 2016.
Yuri lives and maintains his private violin studio in White Rock (Vancouver area),B.C, Canada, and is teaching now on line locally – in Canada and internationally – in US, Russia (Moscow), China and Turkey. He also works on the faculty of the prestigious International InterHarmony Music Festival (www.interharmony.com) and holds professorship in violin performance teaching on the String faculty of the International InterHarmony School of Music (www.interharmonymusicschool).
