Professional Activities
Anita Beaty runs a busy private studio in central Toronto, where she teaches piano and theoretical subjects. Her students participate in festivals and have performed as soloists with their high school orchestras.

Anita was greatly influenced by her studies in Montreal with the late Charles Reiner and as well with Ljerka Blume. She was also encouraged by Evelyne Brancart at Indiana Univerity.

Ms. Beaty frequently attends workshops and master classes, as she believes that it is crucial, both as an artist and as an educator, to keep learning.

Anita performs regularly as a soloist and collaborative pianist. She has recorded with soprano Kyra Millan and Toronto Symphony Orchestra alumnus, flautist Dorothy White. Anita has been heard as a soloist on CBC radio, and is a long-standing member of the chamber ensemble Windsong.

Anita Beaty is highly experienced as a composer, performer, and music director for theatre. Her most noteworthy credit is for the original production of Rick Miller's MacHomer, for which she composed and performed. As well Anita composes music for film, one of which was showcased at the In/Out film festival in Toronto. Anita is an artist/educator for the Canadian Opera Company. In addition she is currently in collaboration with playwright/director Alan Dilworth in the preparation of a multimedia production on the life and music of Argentinian composer Astor Piazzolla.
