Damon Groves

A native of Evergreen, Colorado, Damon Groves has been the Head Piano Technician at The Royal Conservatory of Music since 2008.  

He graduated with a Certificate of Piano Technology from Western University. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Colorado University, where he studied piano with Professor Robert Spillman. Damon created the Piano Technology Workshop at the Glenn Gould School to educate pianists about their instrument.  

He has been fortunate to work with legendary artists such as Dave Brubeck, Chick Corea, Alfred Brendel, Yo-Yo Ma, and Lang Lang, among many others. Damon also spends several weeks during the summer working for the Boston Symphony Orchestra at Tanglewood, where he has served as Chief Concert Technician.  

He lives in Toronto with his wife and two children.
