Judith deHaney was born in Toronto, Canada. She is a graduate of the Faculty of Music, University of Toronto where she received her Bachelor of Music Degree in Piano Performance studying with Patricia Parr. Later she went on to study with Leslie Kinton at the Glenn Gould Professional School at The Royal Conservatory of Music where she earned an Artist Teacher Diploma in Performance and Pedagogy, and an ORFF Certification. Ms. deHaney has participated in various Masterclasses given by John Perry, Robert Macdonald and Marc Durand and has studied with Arlene Shrut at The Juilliard School of Music in New York.

Ms. deHaney’s role as a Performer, Chamber Musician and Accompanist has enabled her to perform in Toronto, Vancouver, Aspen and Jamaica. She has performed at many venues including The Glenn Gould Studio, Air Canada Centre and Tom Thomson Art Gallery. She has also been the resident ORFF music teacher at the Canadian Children's Dance Theatre SummerArts Program for the past 7 years and has been on staff at the Branksome Hall School Music Conservatory for over 10 years.

With over 25 years teaching experience Judith is passionate about engaging her students in the learning process through creative thought and nurturing individual development to better empower her diverse student body. Always exploring new ways of pedagogy by attending workshops, webinars and utilizing new technologies like broadcasting software, Ms. deHaney has always focused on bringing a fresh perspective to her studio. Many of her students have received high standings and scholarships in music festivals and examinations.

Judith is the owner of Signature Music Studio in Toronto.
