Mike Anklewicz is a versatile musician who performs, composes, arranges, and teaches in many different areas of music, ranging from classical to jazz to klezmer to the avant-garde. He has recorded and performed with distinguished artists in all of these genres.

Anklewicz has performed in Canada, the US, the Netherlands, Germany and the Czech Republic with a number of different projects, including KlezFactor, a klezmer-fusion group that has released three CDs (the latest is the 2016 release Europa) and garnered radio airplay and rave reviews around the world. Anklewicz also leads the Mike Anklewicz Klezmer Trio which performs regularly in Toronto and has played at Amsterdam's historic Portuguese Synagogue in 2015.

Anklewicz is also involved with new projects with dancer Paromita Kar. The two are collaborating on a long-form piece entitled Vignettes of Sringaar which bridges classical Indian dance and music with contemporary forms and they also co-lead Ensemble Topaz, a combined music and dance company which explores art forms of "the Orient," bringing them into dialogue on stage.

Anklewicz holds a PhD in ethnomusicology from York University where he wrote his dissertation entitled "Musical Hybridities and the Klezmer Revival." He also holds a Master of Music degree in saxophone performance from the New England Conservatory in Boston, Massachusetts and a Bachelor of Music degree from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario.
