Curated and conducted by Brian Current, this special concert centres on Black Ice by Rashaan Allwood, a gripping and visceral work that reflects on unseen danger and structural inequality. The music captures the unsettling tension of surfaces that appear stable yet conceal deep instability, unfolding through striking contrasts and raw physical energy. The program also features Rain Coming by Tōru Takemitsu, a luminous work from the composer’s celebrated rain-inspired cycle, where delicate timbres and shifting textures evoke the quiet arrival of rain and the subtle transformation of sound. Completing the program is Ominous by Vivian Fung, a tense and vibrant work that explores precariousness and urgency through vivid sonic colours.
Free tickets available starting from 10am on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.
